Search Help

Basic Search

Basic Search allows you to look for title, object type, description, maker/author, and subject.
You can also use Advanced Search.

Choose a basic search method using one of the following options:

  • All Words All Words: searches the catalogue for items containing all the words entered in this field.
  • Any Words: searches the catalogue for items containing any of the search words. This option allows you to use Boolean operators (AND, OR, NOT).
  • Exact Phrase: searches the catalogue for the exact phrase you enter.

Example: “Child Labor.”

To use truncation in your search, add an asterisk (*) at the end of a search term.

Example: knit* returns results for knitting and knitted
