Date Made: Probably early 19th century

Spinning wheel; horizontal, spindle. Rectangular table rests on three splayed legs. Slanted wheel post fits through table. Drive wheel has twelve spokes, and a flat rim with one groove, constructed in one piece. The drive wheel axle fits through the wheel post, secured by pins. A wooden washer fits between the wheel and the post. The slanted spindle post has a slot that fits over a plate with holes in it. Both are inserted into the table and pivot on a rod. The position of the post is adjusted by the placement of a peg in one of the holes. The bat's head spindle assembly fits into the top of the spindle post. Turnings on legs, spindle post, and wheel post. Chip carving on table ends.
