Date Made: c. 1880

Spinning wheel; horizontal with bobbin/flyer, treadle. All parts are metal except for bobbin and treadle assembly. A thin rectangular table rests on three splayed legs. The two wheel supports are a U-shaped piece of metal which is screwed into the table. The drive wheel has six s-shaped spokes. The outer edge of the rim has tin capping with two grooves. The mother-of-all is adjusted by a metal screw below it. The wooden bobbin is held by spring-loaded screw. Hooks on flyer not present. Cord used as footman to connect three-part wooden treadle to drive wheel axle.
